At Wings of Hope Northampton, we have two main projects: one providing supported accommodation, and the other supporting asylum seekers and refugees (mainly families) who have just arrived in Northampton and been given temporary or longer-term accommodation. It is this second project that we are asking for your help with.
We are receiving referrals from West Northants Council for people requiring support with immediate, short-term needs such as school clothes, domestic equipment, accessing services, and completing forms. Some individuals may also appreciate a longer-term commitment — for example, befriending as they adjust to life in Northampton, improving their English, and connecting to volunteering or employability opportunities.
Where possible, we work with other agencies, but the need is great. Therefore, we are looking to develop a Friendship & Support Group, bringing together people with a heart for asylum seekers and refugees from across our town.
If you would like to know more, please join us on either:

If you are not able to join us on either of these dates but would still like to know more, please let us know.
Do you want to practice your English in a relaxed, friendly space? Come and join us at The Salvation Army, 8 Tower Street, Northampton, NN1 2SN for a free cup of tea or coffee and a conversation. All levels welcome—no pressure, no tests, just friendly chat.
This is a collaboration between Wings of Hope Northampton, Northampton Salvation Army and Northampton Town of Sanctuary.
We are looking to set up a Refugee Forum, bringing together all those who have an interest in supporting refugees on their journey in the UK.
This forum will unite charities, councils, churches, and volunteers to discuss current issues and identify ways we can support refugees — and each other.
